| COAL BED METHANE DRILLING SERVICE |
|
Coring drilling for Coal Bed Methane (CBM) is a method used to collect continuous core samples from coal seams to evaluate their gas content, permeability, and reservoir characteristics. The drilling uses a diamond coring bit and specialized core barrels to retrieve intact coal samples without disturbing their natural gas content. These cores are then analyzed in the laboratory to measure methane saturation, cleat structure, and coal quality—critical data for assessing the commercial potential and designing efficient CBM production wells.
In Coal Bed Methane (CBM) drilling, an Annular BOP (Blowout Preventer) is a safety device installed on top of the wellhead to seal around the drill pipe, casing, or even an open hole. It prevents uncontrolled gas or fluid flow from the well during drilling operations.
IFO (Initial Flow Operation) testing is performed after drilling to measure the natural gas flow from the coal seam. This test helps evaluate the permeability, pressure, and gas production potential of the coal formation, providing key data for future CBM production planning. |
